How to claim a warranty

You must promptly report any failure covered by this Warranty to Leminar.

  • Remove the defective part from the solar water heater.
  • Hand over the defective part to the warranty department at Leminar Air Conditioning Co. LLC.
  • Whenever any part of the solar water heater is claimed to have manufacturing defects, that part has to be re-tested/checked by a Leminar Technician to confirm that it is defective.
  • Furnish the Equipment model no, Equipment serial no, defective part model no, defective part serial no, invoice copy or Warranty certificate copy while claiming the materials under warranty.
  • In case the model or serial number of the unit or part does not match our records, the claim will be rejected. After thorough verification of documents and depending on the availability of parts, Leminar Air Conditioning Co LLC will issue the repaired, new or equivalent part to the client.

Furthermore, the warranty is valid only when the following terms are satisfied:

  • Leminar Air Conditioning warrants Calpak water heater, and its component parts, to be free from defects in materials and workmanship, under normal use and service, until its Limited Warranty expires. Calpak’s Limited Warranty does not cover events out of Calpak’s control or unrelated to defects in materials and workmanship.
  • The solar thermal system must be installed and maintained by specified and certified personnel.
  • The magnesium bar of the heat tank must necessarily be checked every year and it must be replaced instantly if it has been outworn to a percentage above 50% or if it has been covered by the accumulation of salts.
  • The standard of the water quality used by the system should not be lower than the potable (Ref. to table no.1)
  • The closed circuit fluid should be specially designed for the solar thermal systems and should be non-toxic, corrosion-resistant, and resistant at specified temperatures.
  • The tank as well as the solar panel should be grounded.
  • The water supply pressure should not exceed 8 bars, otherwise, a pressure reducer should be installed in the piping circuit.
  • System temperature and pressure should not exceed the specifications indicated in the device’s technical manual.
  • The tank should always have safety valves that will protect the system from the maximum temperature and maximum operating pressure. For the proper operation of the heat tank and solar collector and to avoid damages, it is necessary to check the safety valves and in case of malfunction must be replaced.
  • The user must take all appropriate measures to exclude the overheating phenomenon.
  • The hydraulic connections to the tank must be such as to exclude the phenomenon of electrolysis.
  • The tank should not be damaged by a drop or a hit during transport or installation.
  • Maintenance of the solar water heater must be in accordance with the maintenance schedule that the installer has designed.
  • The installation must meet the conditions described in the installation manual which is an integral part of the warranty.
  • The temperature in the closed circuit should not exceed the maximum endurance temperature specified in the closed circuit fluid specifications.
  • The electrical resistance is not part of the system but an additional heating element and it should be installed by specified and certified electrician. The electrical resistance is used only in case the temperature of the water into the heat tank is under 50°C. In any other case, the electrical resistant should not be used. The constant and unreasonable use of the resistant may cause damage to the tank and is out of the warranty.
  • Any defective Calpak water heater or component part must be replaced with a current model Calpak product of equal or better quality. Calpak will not provide warranty coverage for any Calpak product replaced with a competitor’s product.
  • Calpak reserves the right to inspect or request the return of any defective Calpak product for which a warranty allowance is requested.

Attention! Very poor water quality at the water outlet can result in salt formation and salts may block the safety valve. In this case, the tank remains unprotected against very high temperatures above 90°C and high pressure (greater than 10 bars). For example, if the safety valve is blocked by salt and the tank reaches a pressure of 16 bars, there will be a leak in the flange, there is a high probability that the enamel coating on the perimeter of the flange will be destroyed and the force exerted on the flange will be about 1 ton. For this reason and to avoid the overheating, accurate measurement of the solar panel’s surface is suggested, especially in areas with high solar radiation. Extremely big collective area or collectors with lower limit of liquid capacity, which are not in accordance to the safety function specifications of the solar tank may cause damage and place the tank out of warranty.

WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

The Limited Warranty does not cover:

  • Breaking the glass panel, the solar collector.
  • The magnesium rod in the tank.
  • Damage to electrical parts of the tank due to excessive salt concentration.
  • Damage to safety valves of the tank, by excessive concentration of salts or external bodies.
  • Tank or solar collector damage due to excessive pressure of the water supply network.
  • Tank or solar collector damage in cases of water heater systems, in which flows water directly from the water supply system to the solar collector tubes (open circuit).
  • Damage of the tank caused by overheating.
  • Damage caused by unauthorised third party intervention.
  • Damage caused by improper maintenance.
  • Damage caused by extreme operating conditions and extrinsic factors (vandalism, fire, extreme weather conditions, etc.).
  • Warranties do not cover the cost of permits, local transportation and handling, removal or disposal, reinstallation materials (pipe, valves, fittings, etc.), special services or equipment (lifts, hoists, cranes, etc.) or building modifications required for the change out of a defective Residential & Central tank or component part.
  • Warranty claims for incidental or consequential damages (including damage from water leakage) are also excluded.
  • Damages, malfunctions, or failures resulting from failure to install the water heater in accordance with applicable building codes/ordinances or good plumbing and electrical trade practices.
  • Damages, malfunctions, or failures resulting from improper installation or failure to operate and main tain the water heater in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions provided.
  • Performance problems caused by improper sizing of the commercial water heater or electric service voltage, wiring, or fusing.
  • Damages, malfunctions, or failures caused by operating the water heater with the anode rod depleted (fully or partially depleted) removed or with modified, altered, or unapproved parts installed.
  • Damages, malfunctions, or failures caused by abuse, accident, fire, flood, freeze, lightning, acts of God.
  • Tank failures (leaks) caused by operating the commercial water heater in a corrosive or contaminated atmosphere.
  • Damages, malfunctions, or failures caused by operating the residential/commercial water heater with an empty, or partially empty, tank (also known as “dry firing”).
  • Damages, malfunctions, or failures caused by operating the residential/commercial water heater with an empty, or partially empty, tank (also known as “dry firing”).
  • Damages, malfunctions, or failures caused by subjecting the tank to pressures greater than those shown on the rating label.
  • Installing the water heaters in open area.
  • Gate passes, authority permits, PCR test and any kind of approval required to enter the sites/Properties to attend complaints under warranty.
